On May 12, 2012, Eric was injured by stepping on an IED. He returned to the states a week later and was sent to Walter Reed Hospital where he has been ever since. Laura has been by his side the entire time and has put her career on hold in order to be there to aid Eric.

There have been extraordinary accomplishments since his return. They have just completed their first trip home to Fayetteville to welcome home Eric’s unit from its Afghanistan tour and plan on getting back home as many times as possible while Eric continues his physical therapy in Walter Reed.

Eric and Laura’s plans for the future are to return to Fayetteville and continue to live in the home they own where they can raise Kinley and enjoy life together.
